Farmers protest: 'Only retailers profit from milk'

Co-operative and Morrisons have announced that they will pay increased premiums on milk to suppliers after protests by dairy farmers.

Meanwhile, the government has said it will hold talks with the farmers on Monday to discuss what changes are needed in the supply chain to secure the industry's future.

Speaking to the BBC, dairy industry expert Ian Potter said that the retailers were the only people making money from milk in the UK, with farmers losing out in a situation that was "simply not sustainable".
