Tyre fire plume close to Heathrow Airport

Up to 40 firefighters have been tackling a blaze in a pile of tyres in a field near Heathrow Airport in London.

London Fire Brigade crews were called at about 16:00 BST to the blaze at a property along the A4 Bath Road, west London.

A plume of black smoke was seen billowing above the area, but the airport said there had been no impact on its operations.

The fire was brought under control at about 18:30 BST.
