Savile abuse: 'Problem of culture in BBC,' says Entwistle

BBC director general George Entwistle has said he believed a "broader cultural problem" within the BBC in the past had allowed Jimmy Savile to carry out alleged abuses against young people.

He made the comment while appearing before the Commons culture committee.

TV presenter Jimmy Savile, who died in 2011 aged 84, is accused of sexually abusing young people over a four-decade period - sometimes on BBC premises.
