BBC bosses 'unaware' of Newsnight dispute
The BBC's director of editorial policy, David Jordan, has told MPs that he was initially unaware that some Newsnight staff had disputed editor Peter Rippon's blog account of why the programme dropped its investigation into claims of sexual abuse by the late DJ, Sir Jimmy Savile.
David Jordan and the BBC's new director general, George Entwistle, were answering questions from the Commons Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee on a number of issues relating to the claims against Savile.
Mr Entwistle also denied Ben Bradshaw's suggestion that he had been "seriously let down by BBC News managers".
