Lord Prescott on PCC defeat: 'The people have spoken'

Conservative Matthew Grove has beaten former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott in the race for the role of Police and Crime Commissioner for Humberside.

Lord Prescott and Mr Grove had contested a second round of voting in the election, as both candidates failed to get 50% of first preference votes.

Speaking after the result was confirmed, the beaten Labour candidate spoke out against the "privatisation of the the police", but also wished his rival well in what would be "a difficult job".
