Review to be carried out after low turnout at PCC elections
A review is to be carried out into how the police and crime commissioner (PCC) elections were conducted, the Electoral Commission has said.
41 police and crime commissioners will take up their posts shortly after the elections recorded the lowest turnout in British history.
The final result came from Devon and Cornwall, with the role going to the Conservatives. But only 15% of people there went to the polls.
David Cameron defended the polls, saying voting numbers were always going to be low for a first-time election.
