Editors set to sign up to press watchdog, says Lord Hunt

Nearly every newspaper editor in Britain is ready to sign up to a new independent watchdog in the wake of the Leveson report, according to Lord Hunt, the chairman of the Press Complaints Commission.

He said editors were ready to strike a deal, to avoid the need for legislation.

On Tuesday David Cameron will meet editors, to discuss how the new body might operate.
