David Cameron: British soldiers 'paid high price' for Afghanistan war

David Cameron has been visiting British forces in Afghanistan a day after the government announced that nearly 4,000 troops will return home by the end of next year.

He said that British forces had paid ''a high price'' over the past 11 years but their presence had reduced the number of terrorist plots hatched in Afghanistan.

The BBC's James Landale travelled with the prime minister and sent this report.
