Birmingham bus stabbing: Police appeal for witnesses

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward following the stabbing of a 16-year-old girl on a bus during rush hour on one of Birmingham's busiest roads.

They have now launched a hunt for a black male in his late teens or early 20s. A suspect who was detained earlier has now been released.

Officers believe the teenage victim was on her way to school.

Det Supt Richard Baker from West Midlands Police gave a briefing to the media.
