Hinkley nuclear plant set to get go-ahead
Planning permission is expected to be given later for French firm EDF Energy to build the first new nuclear power plant in the UK for generations.
The proposed £14bn power plant at Hinkley Point in Somerset would be capable of powering five million homes.
Despite Energy Secretary Ed Davey's expected decision, EDF has not decided if it will go ahead with the project.
