Unite: NHS 'falling into chaos and crisis'

Members of Britain's largest trade union, Unite, are holding a rally outside the Houses of Parliament in protest over changes to the NHS.

Activists are warning that standards of care at A&E departments, maternity units and in hospitals are being threatened because of government policies.

The union is demanding that funding is increased across the NHS but the coalition government has promised to ring fence NHS spending.

Rachael Maskell, head of Health for Unite, said the NHS was falling into chaos and crisis.
