Woolwich: Met Police ask people to remain calm

The Metropolitan Police Commissioner has confirmed that two men have been arrested after a man was killed in a machete attack in Woolwich, south-east London.

Police said a murder inquiry was being led by its Counter Terrorism Command.

The two suspects were shot and wounded by police at the scene.

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe made a statement outside New Scotland Yard on Wednesday evening.
