Philip Hammond pays tribute to Woolwich murder victim

Defence Secretary Philip Hammond has paid tribute to the British soldier killed yesterday in the attack in Woolwich, London.

The soldier has been named as Drummer Lee Rigby of the 2nd battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Mr Hammond said; "This was a senseless murder of a soldier that had served the army faithfully in a variety of roles."

He added; "We are not going to be cowed by this type of terrorist action."
