Lord McAlpine's solicitor says Sally Bercow 'acted dishonourably'

The High Court has ruled a tweet sent by the wife of the Commons Speaker about Lord McAlpine was libellous.

Sally Bercow's remarks were in reference to a BBC investigation which mistakenly linked a "leading Conservative politician" to sex abuse claims.

Lord McAlpine's solicitor, Andrew Reid, told The World At One why they sought damages from Mrs Bercow and the pitfalls of airing opinions online.

He said: "Some people behaved very honourably... Others haven't demonstrated that behaviour and I'm afraid Sally Bercow was in that camp."
