1986: Bamber jailed for 'at least 25 years'

In 1986, a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court found Jeremy Bamber guilty of the murder of five members of his family by a majority verdict of 10 to two.

Bamber, who was sentenced to at least 25 years in prison, always protested his innocence, saying his schizophrenic sister Sheila Caffell shot her family before turning the gun on herself.

Andrew Taylor reports.

First broadcast on 26 October 1986.
