Gritters tackle melting tarmac in Warrington

Gritters have taken to the roads around Warrington and in other places across the country as the hot weather has melted tarmac and broken up the surface.

The heatwave has spread to the north west of the UK, where people have taken to the beach in West Kirby, and even the animals in Blackpool Zoo have needed sunblock.
