Royal baby: Nick Clegg congratulates Prince William and Kate on birth of son

The deputy prime minister has added his congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their son.

Nick Clegg sent the couple best wishes on behalf of himself and his wife, Miriam.

He added that he hoped William and Catherine would be "able to enjoy these precious early days together".
