Police fitness: BBC reporter takes the test

From September, for the first time, every police officer will have to pass an annual fitness test.

The proposal follows a recommendation from the Winsor review of police pay and conditions.

The test involves a "shuttle run" which instructors say should be the minimum standard for a serving police officer.

Tom Symonds tried out the test with Surrey Police. The force says it has seen improvements since regular fitness tests were introduced.
