David Miranda takes legal action over seized data
David Miranda, the partner of a Guardian journalist who has published information leaked by US whistleblower Edward Snowden, is taking legal action against the Home Office, after he was detained for nine hours under terrorism laws.
Mr Miranda's laptop and phone were both confiscated when he was questioned by police at Heathrow Airport.
The Home Office has defended its actions, saying the government and the police have a duty to protect the public and British national security.
