BBC Trust's Lord Patten: "No concerns at all" about former director general's comments
BBC Trust chairman Lord Patten says he has "no concerns at all" about comments made by former BBC director general Mark Thompson concerning the Trust's knowledge of executive pay-offs.
Mr Thompson, who is due to give evidence to MPs on the subject on Monday, says he has emails which show that Trust members, including the chairman Lord Patten and a senior BBC boss, approved the payments.
Lord Patten said Mr Thompson's comments referring to former deputy director general Mark Byford were "curious" as the decision concerning Mr Byford's pay-off took place before Lord Patten was chairman of the trust.
