Fire-fighters confirm four-hour strike

Fire-fighters in England and Wales will go on strike on 25 September in a row over pensions, the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) has confirmed.

In a statement the government said the decision by the Fire Brigades Union to strike was entirely unnecessary and avoidable.

But FBU general secretary Matt Wrack said the four-hour strike was "a warning shot to government".
