Police chief Adrian Lee slams alcohol culture

A senior police chief has raised concerns over the effect Britain's alcohol culture is having on police and health resources.

Chief Constable Adrian Lee criticised people who deliberately set out to get drunk, and those who "pre-drink" on cheaper alcohol at home before a night out, saying it was having a "massive impact" on health and crime.

Chief Constable Lee leads on the issue of problem drinking for the Association of Chief Police Officers.
