Titanic violin sells for £900,000

The violin thought to have been played by the bandmaster of the Titanic as it sank in 1912 has been sold at auction for £900,000.

The instrument, which has taken seven years to verify as genuine, was reported to have been found at sea a week after the disaster, strapped to Wallace Hartley's body.

Duncan Kennedy reports.
