Durham PCC Ron Hogg backs drug consumption rooms

Drug rooms, where addicts can safely inject drugs without fear of prosecution, should be rolled out across the country, according to Durham Police and Crime Commissioner Ron Hogg.

He has studied research from Denmark, where they already run drug rooms, and believes the model could work here.

"We want addicts to access drugs in a safe environment so that they are not committing crime to buy drugs", Mr Hogg told BBC Breakfast.
