Amazon workers face 'illness risk’

A BBC investigation into the retail giant Amazon has uncovered working conditions that an expert has said could cause "mental and physical illness".

Amazon reported UK sales of £4.8 billion last year. It employs around 20,000 staff in the UK during the Christmas period. On the company's busiest day in December last year, 3.5million items were ordered by customers.

Amazon says staff safety is its number one priority and that official safety inspections have not raised concerns.

Panorama's Richard Bilton reports.
