Leeds beggars are kept off streets with ASBOs

Leeds City Council has given ASBOs to four beggars as part of a campaign to crack down on the practice.

The ABSOs will prevent the beggars from going to certain streets in the centre of Leeds.

Councillor John Hardy, the council's lead on homelessness told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "A lot of the time they're begging not for food... but for drink or drugs."
