EU migrant rules: Benefit tourism is out, says IDS

New rules on how long EU jobseekers must wait to claim benefits in the UK are to be brought in early, the government has said.

Plans to introduce a three month wait before foreign citizens can apply for out of work benefits are being rushed through Parliament to start on 1 January.

Speaking to the BBC's Norman Smith, Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith said the aim was to send the message that "benefit tourism is out".
