Mark Duggan verdict: London Mayor Boris Johnson reacts

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has expressed his sympathies for the family of Mark Duggan.

Mr Duggan's family maintain that he was murdered, despite an inquest jury ruling on Wednesday that the shooting by an armed officer was a lawful killing.

Mr Johnson said that police in London fire weapons very rarely, adding that people should bear in mind the pressures under which firearms officers operate.
