Abuse suspect parents 'should flee the country'

Parents suspected of child abuse should flee the country rather than face justice in the family courts, one MP has told BBC Panorama.

The programme has investigated whether some parents may have unfairly lost their children forever after tiny fractures on their babies' X-rays were seen as evidence of abuse - rather than signs of a vitamin deficiency.

Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming, who is chairman of the Justice for Families campaign group, suggested to Panorama that parents suspected of abuse flee the country, rather than fight for justice through the Family Courts - because the system is loaded against them.

The government said family justice reform was a "critical priority".
