Somerset floods: Careful balance to pump operation
As military planners work out how best to support those affected by the floods in Somerset, the Environment Agency and local fire services are trying to reduce water levels.
John Worsley, Exeter Fire Service's watch manager, told the BBC their pumps were in place alongside the Environment Agency's and large amounts of water was being shifted.
But high river levels mean there is a limit to how much pumping can be done, for fear of flooding further downstream.
