MP: Dawlish sea defence fix 'mission critical' for South West
The MP whose constituency includes Dawlish has said that it is "mission critical" to fix the sea defences for the town to protect the railway line from future bad weather.
Tracks are hanging in mid-air on the seafront after part of the sea wall collapsed, and Network Rail estimate it could take at least six weeks to repair.
Newton Abbot MP Anne Marie Morris said that better sea defences for Dawlish would make more financial sense - and be quicker - than re-routing the railway line.
