Tornado jet collects flood images
The RAF sent up a Tornado jet to collect photos of flooded areas in the Thames Valley.
High resolution images enable them to pinpoint which houses may require immediate assistance.
The cameras allow the pilots to overlay colour maps, so they can tell what is the river and what is flood water and can zoom in on homes and locations that are of interest.
The system also allows the images to be fed back - in real time - to the emergency services.
