Temporary defences at Dawlish have been damaged in storm

The reopening of the South West's main rail link will be delayed by up to another two weeks after more storm damage at Dawlish in Devon.

It had been hoped to complete repairs on the line - which connects Cornwall and most of Devon to the UK - would be completed by the middle of March.

But Network Rail have said that shipping containers, used as a makeshift sea wall in front of the damaged track, were damaged by Friday's storm. John Ayres reports from Dawlish.
