Are weekly rental retailers cashing in on poverty?

A growing number of people are turning to companies offering weekly rental services to buy items like washing machines and fridges when money is tight.

Companies like Brighthouse, which allow you to pay weekly instalments over a number of years to buy items, have grown rapidly.

But Brighthouse says it is a responsible lender, providing a valuable service to people with limited cash.

Graham Satchell reports.
