London tube strike: We've got to get on with it, says mayor
The Mayor of London has thanked London Underground staff who have gone to work as usual, saying large numbers of people have still been able to use the network to get around the city.
Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) have walked out for 48 hours over plans to close all ticket offices at a cost of 960 jobs.
Boris Johnson said the planned closures were part of a necessary modernisation.
Mike Brown from London Underground claimed that many services were running, and that some RMT members had come to work.
