Richard Branson on Virgin's West Coast mainline deal

Virgin Trains has secured a new three-year deal to run trains on the West Coast mainline.

It has promised to increase capacity on the line and to modernise its trains, which run from London, through the West Midlands, Greater Manchester and on to Glasgow.

New routes will also be added.

The deal comes two years after Virgin challenged the government's decision to award the contract to the franchised First Group.

Business editor Kamal Ahmed spoke to Virgin's boss, Richard Branson, about what they would be offering on the service.
