Fracking licences to be granted by government

The bidding process for licences to extract shale gas - using the controversial process fracking - is due to begin.

The newly appointed Minister for Business and Energy, Matthew Hancock told the BBC that companies that are granted the new fracking licences would have financial commitments to the communities where the drilling takes place.
