British mother's 'pain' at Sharia law ruling
British mother Afsana Lachaux has spoken to the BBC of the pain caused by having "no communication" with her son.
Ms Lachaux lost custody of her son to her French ex-husband following a Sharia hearing in Dubai.
The 46-year-old, from London, was found guilty of kidnap charges for failing to attend an access meeting between her son and her ex-husband.
She told the BBC Asian Network's Sheetal Parmar being westernised "shouldn't be held against [her]".
