Eerie silence of deserted Camp Bastion in Afghanistan

British troops have officially ended operations in Afghanistan bringing to a close a 13-year campaign in which 453 British troops died since it began in 2001.

Camp Bastion, the last UK military base in the country, has been handed over to the control of Afghan security forces.

Camp Leatherneck, the adjoining US base, has also been handed over to Afghan control.
