'Tremendous sacrifice' by British troops in Afghanistan

Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has hailed the "tremendous sacrifice" made by British troops in Afghanistan, as the UK's 13-year-long military campaign in the country comes to an end.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Mr Fallon insisted that Afghanistan was "a much better place" that had been given "the chance of a safer future", despite the continuing threat from Taliban insurgents.
