Convicted sex attacker Ray Teret 'used charm and flattery'

A former radio DJ who was a friend of Jimmy Savile has been found guilty of a string of historical sex allegations.

Ray Teret, 73, from Altrincham, was convicted of seven counts of rape and 11 counts of indecent assault.

He abused girls aged as young as 13 between 1962 and 1979.

Speaking outside court, the Chief Prosecutor for the North West, Nazir Afzal, said Teret had preyed on his victims in a calculating way, using ''charm and flattery''.
