Missing Syria girls: 'Business as usual' at Bethnal Green Academy

The East London school attended by three girls who are believed to have travelled to Syria, has said they were not radicalised while at school.

The principal of Bethnal Green Academy, Mark Keary, said students do not have access to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

"We operate an outstanding system of pastoral care and personal support," he said.

Shamima Begum, 15, Amira Abase, 15, and Kadiza Sultana, 16, left on a flight to Turkey last Tuesday. It is feared they have gone to Syria to join a friend from the same school who left to join Islamic State militants in December 2014.
