Menezes family make European court challenge

The family of a Brazilian man shot dead by police in London are taking a case to the European Court of Human Rights, challenging the decision not to prosecute any of the officers involved.

Jean Charles de Menezes was mistaken for a suicide bomber in July 2005.

Mr de Menezes was shot amid a frantic operation to hunt down the men responsible for the failed suicide bombings of 21 July 2005 - attacks that came after the deaths of 52 people in four similar explosions two weeks earlier.
