Child sex abuse inquiry 'could take 10 years' - Keith Vaz
An inquiry into historical child sexual abuse in England and Wales could take as long as 10 years, the chairman of the Commons Home Affairs Select Committee has said.
The inquiry, which opens on Wednesday, follows claims of a high-level cover-up of child sex abuse involving public figures, including politicians.
Keith Vaz told the Victoria Derbyshire programme that the inquiry should do "whatever it takes" to investigate the allegations.
"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to look at these historical cases but also to set down parameters... as to how local authorities, the government and police deal with it in the future," he said.
