Farmers in a 'desperate situation' as milk prices fall

Farming unions from across the UK will hold an "urgent summit" on Monday to discuss milk prices, following widespread protests.

Some farmers are being paid less than the cost of production, according to the National Farmers' Union of England and Wales.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, NFU president Meurig Raymond said that farmers face "a desperate situation" and are making losses that were "totally unsustainable going forwards".
