Farage: EU needs offshore refugee centres

Europe must not "allow our compassion to imperil our safety" amid the current refugee crisis, UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said.

Speaking at the launch of his party's campaign for a "No" vote in the forthcoming in/out referendum on the UK's EU membership, he said Europe should use "offshore" centres to process asylum claims.

And Mr Farage added there was genuine concern the Islamic State group was using the crisis as a cover to send jihadists to Europe.
