Inside Birmingham's revamped New Street train station

Birmingham's New Street station and Grand Central shopping centre is opening this weekend, after a £750m make-over.

The five-year project saw the demolition of the Stephenson Tower, along with the removal of 6,000 tonnes of concrete in order to increase the station's capacity.

Serving 170,000 passengers a day, New Street is the busiest station outside of London.

Richard Westcott took a look inside ahead of its official opening.
