A&E visits for alcohol harm up by 50%, figures show

Emergency hospital admissions due to the harmful effects of alcohol now top 250,000 a year in England, according to a health charity.

The Nuffield Trust says that the NHS faces a "stark challenge" in trying to deal with the consequences of harmful drinking.
