Archbishop gives warning over IS threat to Christianity

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has used his Christmas Day sermon to warn that the so-called Islamic State militant group is the "Herod of today" - and that Christianity is facing elimination in the very region where the faith was born.

Meanwhile Pope Francis has appealed for reconciliation, after a year of violence around the world.
