'Every day there is an arson attack because of the red door'

The front doors of houses used by asylum seekers are to be repainted, after claims they were targeted because nearly all of the doors were red.

Asylum seekers in Middlesbrough told The Times newspaper eggs and stones had been thrown at their houses as the doors made them easy to identify.

Abdul Albashir, an asylum seeker from Sudan, who has been living in the UK for the past 16 years, said that he was a victim of daily arson attacks.
